DERMA SMOOTH LOTION
Derma Smooth is a prescription medication containing fluocinolone, a low- to medium-strength corticosteroid. It can be used:
- As Body Oil: Used to treat eczema (atopic dermatitis) in adults and children 3 months and older.
- As Scalp Oil: Used to treat scalp psoriasis in adults.
How does it work?
Fluocinolone reduces inflammation, redness, and itching associated with eczema and psoriasis.
How is it used?
- As Body Oil: Apply a thin film to affected areas 2-3 times daily, unless directed otherwise by your doctor. Avoid using it on the face, groin, or underarms unless instructed.
- As Scalp Oil: Wet hair and scalp thoroughly. Apply a thin film to the scalp and massage. Cover with a shower cap for at least 4 hours or overnight. Rinse off with shampoo the next day.
Important warnings:
- Do not use Derma Smooth if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
- Inform your doctor about other medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.
- Do not use Derma Smoothe on infected skin.
- Consult your doctor before using Derma-Smoothe/FS on children, pregnant women, or breastfeeding mothers.
- Do not use Derma Smooth for longer than prescribed or in larger amounts than recommended.
Possible side effects:
- Burning, stinging, itching, or irritation at the application site.
- Thinning of the skin with prolonged use.
- Acne, stretch marks, or changes in skin color.
- Systemic side effects, although rare, can occur with prolonged or excessive use.
